Thierry Rabotin Shoes

Why buy Thierry Rabotin Shoes?

Why would you buy Thierry Rabotin shoes over any other shoe manufacturer?
After all, there are many hundreds of shoe designers to choose from and many of them are very well known, very classy and sometimes rather expensive.

A good question and one that can be easily answered.

The Vision

Since its inception in Italy in 1977, Thierry Rabotin shoes have not used any modern machinery instead choosing to stick with artisan culture, they insist that they only produce hand made shoes that fit like a glove, they only use the best materials and Thierry himself is so proud of them, he even signs every one that leaves his factory in Milan!

As a child out fishing in his uncomfortable boots, Thierry Rabotin would wish his shoes felt like his slippers or 'chaussons' as they were called in his native France, and this was a dream that stayed with him until he discovered his passion for shoes.

A crazy notion some would say, but Thierry and his partners Austrian Karlheinz Schlecht and Italian Giovanna Ceolini insist that everyone should wear shoes that are comfortable.

The Sacchetto System

'Quality without Compromise'

This idea is mainly achieved by a process known as 'The Sacchetto' Method, a system that has been in existence for nearly 2000 years, where each shoe does away with the need for an insole or shankpiece as the lining is attached to the upper like a sack along its edge.

This does away with the need for any metal and thermoplastic glue thus allowing the shoe to be lighter and easier to walk in and the shoe actually adapts itself to your foot and not the other way around.

By using the finest leather available and with the absence of the aforementioned insole, shankpiece, metal and hard glues the natural movement of the foot is permitted, thus providing the perfect ambience for the foot.

Only water based glues are used in the production of the shoes to avoid harmful odours and the finest, best grained nappa along with shock absorbing materials in the sole are deployed to provide soft, breathable shoes, that keep their shape for many years.

By following the belief that the ultimate in comfort and the perfect fit of a shoe, that fits like a slipper, that only the Sacchetto method can allow, has continually influenced Thierry Rabotin Shoes.

The real avant garde concepts and styles are never overlooked in the search for perfection and this can be seen in any pair of Thierry Rabotin shoes.

In the words of Thierry Rabotin;

"During my long professional journey I have made many
important encounters, but the most wonderful was, and remains, the one with Giovanna and Karl who permitted me to liberate all my creativity allowing me in this way to give the best of myself.'
